WELCOME TO CLASS 3HT (Formerly Year 2 Mixed)

The grown-ups working with you in your new class are:

Mrs Hamid (Teacher-Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), Mrs Turvey (Teacher -Thursday, Friday) & Mrs Patel (Teaching Assistant)

Hello and a very warm welcome to year three. This is such an exciting year as you move from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2. Mrs Hamid, Mrs Turvey and Mrs Patel are looking forward to hearing about all the things you have been learning at home. This year, we shall be building on the knowledge you have learnt in KS1 and teaching you some more information. We know you have been busy with your home learning but don’t worry if you were unsure of some of the work sent out. In September, we shall be looking at what you know and will tailor our planning to help you continue on your learning journey.

Exciting work has been planned for you. For example, in History we shall be studying the Stone Age to the Iron Age where will write information reports as well as adventure stories. In P.E we will begin with netball (socially distant of course!). For all those that love maths and those that find it tricky, we will be extending your understanding of number by looking at place value. Can you remember your tens from your f  hundreds and ones from your tens? Remember, your teachers are here to help you so if you have any questions or worries please ask. Our email address is 3ht@johngulson.coventry.sch.uk

We look forward to seeing you in September!

Mrs Russell-Brookes and Mrs Rai know you have been busy with your home learning but do not worry if you were unsure of some of the work sent out.

In September, we shall be looking at what you know and will tailor our planning to help you continue your learning journey. To do this we have been working hard to plan an exciting curriculum for you. In Maths you will continue to work on your place value skills. Can you remember your tens from your hundreds and ones from your tens?

In history you will be studying what it was like from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. What do you think it was like to be a stone age boy?  Do you think you would like it? It will be fun to find out together.

In PE you will be learning new team games like netball and tag rugby as well as multi skills and athletics. We will be reading some exciting and interesting stories throughout the year as well as completing lots of interesting writing tasks.
