Physical Education (PE)
At John Gulson, the children (EYFS - Year 6) are taught a wide range of sports activities which focus on developing and improving their core strength and fine motor skills. We focus on the school values of resilience, perseverance and teamwork to prepare our pupils for outer school competitions.
Our pupils get a weekly PE lesson delivered by EPIC Academy. They deliver lessons to a high standard challenging our pupils to reach their physical limits.
We are proud to be recipients of the Gold Award rewarded by Sports Games. This shows that the school is offering all our children a wide range of opportunities in extra curriculum activities, both at lunchtime and after school. We are very proud to provide the opportunity for our SEND children to take part in an after school club exclusively for them.
At the end of each academic year, we host our very own Sports Personality of the Year Event which celebrates individual and team success throughout the year.

Swimming
Each year, our pupils have the opportunity to learn the vital life-skill of swimming. We use a swimming company to bring in a portable swimming pool which can be placed within our MUGA facility. Every child from Year 1 to Year 6 can experience one week's swimming in order for them to meet the national requirement of swimming 25 metres.
Year 6 PE
Year 6 are currently using the apparatus in the Key Stage 2 Hall during their PE lesson. Year 6 are currently being taught gymnastics by a member of staff from EPIC Academy.
