Character Education
This year, each year group will be following the scheme of work 'Amazing People' during their Character Education lessons. Amazing People explores famous figures (past and present) who showed the same values as our school promotes. Throughout the academic year, each year group will do written, art and practical tasks which embodies the famous historical figure and the school value they represent.
Pupil 1 (Year 6) - Character Education is very interesting because we learnt about a variety of inspirational historical figures and their life stories. I discovered that Madam C J Walker was the first women self made millionaire even though her parents were born as slaves. I also love the bits where we do art, watch movies (about Africa) and we wrote a letter to ourselves in 10 years time.
Pupil 2 (Year 6) - Character Education is interesting and enjoyable because we watch films (The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind), do fun story maps and do sporty activities outside (learning how to skip). This subject teaches us about how historical people used our school values to do great things for other people. I was inspired by the story of Nelson Mandela and what he did for millions of people around the world.
