This week, the Reception children have been learning all about hand hygiene. They were paid a special visit by the school nurse, who told us all about how germs spread on our hands during play. We must make sure we wash our hands: after touching animals; after we’ve been to the toilet; after playing in the mud or sand; before eating. The nurse also gave us some special steps to follow, so that our hands are kept clean:
1) Put soap on your hands and rub it into a lather.
2) Rub the front and back of your hands, and both of your thumbs.
3) Clean your nails.
The children always wash their hands before lunch, and now they know exactly why!
