This week, the Reception children have been celebrating the diversity of cultures within John Gulson School. They all took part in a carousel of very different, and very exciting activities to help them learn more about the cultures of other people. As part of the celebrations, they enjoyed: playing traditional African drums; creating Caribbean fruit art; Indian dancing; making (and eating!) Polish apple pancakes; designing mehndi patterns; reading stories in English and Gujarati; weaving baskets out of paper; painting pictures of mosques. The children have been so busy this week, have had so much fun, and have learned so much about what people from other cultures do, wear and eat!
