Year 4 Children took part in a variety of activities based around the religion Hinduism.
During the morning the children learnt about the different Hindu Gods and Goddesses; reincarnation; festivals and the Hindu traditional dress.
They spent the afternoon taking part in a mock Hindu wedding. The children were provided with different garments to wear and were shown the different elements that make up a Hindu wedding. They began to understand the different traditions of a Hindu wedding during the role play.
The children took a lot out of the day, they thoroughly enjoyed the role play, painting each other’s faces and dressing up in Hindu clothing.
The children began to notice similarities and differences between Hinduism and other religions.
