School Chef of the Year Competition

We are really proud that Lee, our school chef made it through to the regional finals for the School Chef of the Year competition. Our school council went along to the regional finals to support him.

Lee works with our pupils to design and create meals chosen by them that we hope they all enjoy.

The event was covered in the the Coventry Telegraph… even if they did call him a ‘dinner man’ 🙂 Coventry dinner man looking to become school chef of the year

If you like the sound of the meals we have in school then why not encourage your children into cooking and have a go at making some of the meals at home. Lee has produced a recipe book of the children’s favourite meals for charity. The recipe book is available from the school office for £1 with all proceeds being donated to Cancer Research.

You can hear Lee talk about the amazing work all our kitchen staff do in providing healthy meals that the children enjoy in this recent radio interview by BBC Coventry and Warwickshire:

Victorian Day in Year 1

This week children in Year 1 experienced what it would be like to be a Victorian Child. Throughout the day they made Victorian Christmas cake, played with Victorian toys, made decoupage picture frames, visited a strict Victorian School and did some very hard Victorian Drill.

Great win for Team JG Girls.

Tuesday 5th December

Today our Girls football team played their 2nd game of the league against Keresley Grange Academy.

It was a very exciting game and our girls played very good football.

We controlled most of the game and kept attacking and we managed to score 6 goals and concede only 1.

Thanks for all the support and we are looking forward to more games.
