Year 5 Visit Cathedral and Transport Museum

Recently, year 5 visited St Michael’s Cathedral in Coventry. The building was severely damaged during the blitz, and we learnt a lot about what happened during that tragic evening in 1945. This helped to give us ideas and inspiration for our Big Writing back at school.

We also visited the Transport Museum, which had a special ‘Blitz Experience’ exhibition.

Football: John Gulson 14 – 0 Spon Gate

On Thursday 25th November, John Gulson played against Spon Gate in a league game. We were playing away, so we had to travel there with transport. We went in a mini-bus.

Their pitch was extremely small, and their players were a bit shorter than us, maybe they were in the year below? In the end, the match was a whitewash for John Gulson, with about 15 shots on goal. Afterwards, we congratulated Spon Gate on their effort. As a result of our excellent passing, we dominated the posession for both halves of the match.

Building Work Taking Place

John Gulson has become a hive of industrial activity as the playground is demolished in preparation for the new building. The old ICT suite is about to disappear, an old well has been uncovered, and the builders are working through the freezing weather and snow!

You can see news and pictures of the building work, in chronological order, on the building news page.
